Title: Modern methods of hydrogeological modeling in the design of buildings and drainage in urban space.

Hourly dimension: 1h W + 3h CL (4 hours with breaks)

Topics/Scope of the workshop:

  1. The impact of drainage and construction excavations on urban space.
  2. Synthetic characteristics of drainage methods for construction investments.
  3. Principles of designing modern drainage systems.
  4. Modern standards in the field of monitoring the water environment in urban space for the purposes of forecasting and verifying the impact of construction and drainage works.
  5. Forecasting the hydrogeological effects of construction and drainage works on changes in water relations and buildings and structures, including historic buildings.

Prerequisites:

  • Basic knowledge of hydrogeological modeling.
  • Basic knowledge of hydrogeological modeling programs.

WORKSHOP 2 (free)

Title: Acquiring publicly available hydrogeological data and using free GIS software for hydrogeology.

  1. Acquiring data from publicly available databases
  2. Processing basic hydrogeological data
  3. Using the Q-GIS package in hydrogeology

WORKSHOP 3 (paid – PLN 1000 PLN + VAT, payment on a separate invoice)

Title: Advanced numerical modeling methods in designing soil-water environment remediation

Workshop date: September 10, 2025 (Wednesday), 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Location: build. A-0, ground floor, room 01

Hours: 1 hour Lecture + 5 hours Exercises (5.5 hours with breaks)

Topics/Scope of the workshop:

  1. Synthetic characterization of soil and water environment remediation methods.
  2. Introduction to the methodology for creating local mass transport models.
  3. Minimum requirements for data necessary for creating mass transport models.
  4. Principles of schematization of hydrogeological conditions for the purposes of creating local mass transport models in the soil and water environment.
  5. Optimal arrangement of boundary conditions in transport models.
  6. Principles of mapping remediation systems and installations.
  7. Introduction to the assessment of the effectiveness of proposed remediation works.

Participant requirements:

  • Intermediate level of knowledge in the area of ​​contaminant migration in the soil and water environment.
  • Knowledge of typical methods of soil and water remediation.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of hydrogeological modeling programs from the MODFLOW family.
